What are age spots?

Age spots are also known as sun spots, liver spots, lentigos or lentigines. These skin discolorations are typically brown and flat. They appear on areas of the skin commonly exposed to the sun such as the backs of the hands, the forearms, neck, chest and face.

How does it work?

The treatment works by directing a beam of laser light to the target chromophore which is the dark pigment (melanin) within the age spot. This removes the abnormality without scarring or damage, resulting in improved skin texture and reduced signs of aging.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment causes only minimal discomfort and any initial soreness is alleviated with a cold air cooling system. The treatment can be performed in a relaxed, comfortable manner without the use of local anaesthetics or gel.

How long does it take to recover?

You’ll be able to return to normal activities immediately, though sunscreen should be applied as a post-treatment precaution.

How many treatments are required?

Laser treatments are the fastest and most effective available. The number of sessions depend on the type of pigmentation but most clients need around 4 treatments.
